CCW'd for the first time today

My permit should be here any day. But in the meantime, I've been carrying around the house most nights and most weekends for around 2 months and my wife has yet to notice. That either means we're not physically in touch with each other or CCW just plain rocks. I hope the latter. It's an XD9 subcompact in a Supertuck at 4 o'clock.

I even carried the other day wearing a real tight T-shirt while mowing the lawn with her. I spent half the time bending over and knew I was printing like mad, but she still didn't notice. I do need to stop tugging at my shirts so much though.

Congrats on your first carry - I can't wait to do the same!

Congrats! I've been packing for around a year and the anxiety will be replaced by a warm and fuzzy.

Oh yes what the others say is true. You WILL get used to it. When I first carried I felt like I had a big blinking neon sign on my forehead, "This person is armed! Eeeek!!" But now... it isn't accurate to say I don't think about it, because I devote a certain part of my mind to always knowing I have it, how to retrieve it, and some bit of a plan for what I'm going to do if I need to use it. But I am no longer self conscious at all. That feeling has been replaced by a certainty that I am doing what is right.

Well I don't get to carry because I live behind the Daley curtain, but I recall the same anxiety about just having a gun in the house. That went away. It came back when I decided to keep it loaded. That's gone away now, too.
