CDNN used Berettas?

Anyone ever gotten a used Beretta 92 or 96 from CDNN? What was your experience with it? I am looking at the higher grade of 92, the very good to excellent condition. What exactly does that mean, in regards to CDNN? Also, would the model 96 be a better buy, overall condition of gun-wise, I think the regular condition is lower priced but there is the option for "select" for another $20, still about $10 cheaper than the 92.

I guess I am curious about CDNN used pistols, Beretta especially, and also what the grades mean. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Why Buy Used?

I don't know about CDNN, but I was at the local gun shop today and they had brand new Beretta 92FS for $499, I thought that was a steal.

Well, because they are LEO trade-ins for $339, a little bit of holster wear = $160 I can spend on ammo. And more importantly, I am buying a few pistols I have wanted for some time at once, the others are an FNP-9m and a CZ 40B. The Beretta will also allow me to practice with the same weapon I will occasionally use in the Guard, especially during State Marksmanship Program practices and matches. I participated in my first match a couple weekends ago, and did pretty well in the novice class, especially since I've never fired or even handled a Beretta before.


All those .22s from my Kadet kit earlier that week really transferred well.

They are good solid guns. The hand pick is not worth the extra money IHMO. My sister in law got one of their 92FS a while back for $299 or so and its a great shooter.

When you order from CDNN ask for Chuck Martin he will hook you up.

Depends On The Gun

I have bought several BERETTA pistols from CDNN. If you buy one in NEW, UNISSUED or excellent condition, it will be just that.

I also bought a 92D from them and it has seen better days. The magazine fell apart at the range and the gun is not as accurate as my 96D Brigadier. I would pass if it is not in the above condition unless you get a guarantee that it can be returned for a full refund.

I really enjoy shooting my other 92 and my 96D, so good luck with it.

I've had good luck with CDNN. In general they seem to undergrade their guns, and they strive to make their customers happy. I agree the handpick isn't worth the money. They open 3 to 5 boxes on the top of the stack, and give you the best looking one.

At one time, it seems like about 3 or 4 years ago, Beretta went to using a plastic trigger, a plastic guide rod, and I think a few other plastic parts. I can't remember exactly, except that i didn't believe it, so I went to a gun store to check. Sure enough, a metal reinforced plastic trigger. It doesn't seem there have been any problems, but it was apparently a cost cutting measure. The older guns have metal parts. That's one reason for buying the older versions.

Check the locking block well when you recieve it.

My friend has a Beretta 96D that came from CDNN, and it's a decent gun. Has a fair amount of holster wear, but shoots fine.

Well apparently they can't transfer more than three pistols at a time to an individual, so I will have to wait on the Beretta for a few weeks. That's ok though, because Cody said that they just won a bid on a new batch of VG-excellent 92s, which should arrive in a few weeks. So I will just plan on ordering it sometime in august.

Also, are the older locking blocks prone to breakage or something? Beretta parts should be pretty easy to find, are improved locking blocks out there?

Yes the 92Fs can block can break after 15,000 rounds or so.

Replacing it is easy. I personally do not worry about it.
