See you all tonight!

I'll definately be making it (baring some unforseen circumstances coming up in the next hour and a half).

For those who haven't met me, look for the bearded red headed fat guy in a white shirt (though for shooting I may go with a darker shirt), black pants, and a yarmulke.

I don't know how much I'll be able to actually shoot though since my back has been acting up lately (I could barely get out of bed this morning) so I may only bring the two types of guns people have already mentioned wanting to try (my Taurus PT140 Millennium Pro, a compact .40, and the CZ 75B since someone was interested in a CZ). I may add one or two, but I'm not quite sure.

I don't think I'm gonna make it tonight. My parents just got home and apparently I have to go socialize with the family :( . I'll be going to try out my new gun next Thursday or Friday though, if anybody wants to meet then.

Good times everyone!

Just got back at 9:20pm and got everything unpacked.

We had: Me, my wife (hereafter known as the Admiral), Spot77, Chaim, anapex, GirlWithAGun, deker, and our friend Greg

Had a good time fondling some guns I hadn't shot before, including that little Colt Series 80 .380 of anapex's.

deker brought an excellent example of a 1911. Everyone trying each other's 1911s caused some consternation, especially between the Admiral and anapex as they each shot the other's 1911 better than their own

Look for a social get together/picnic soon....more time to sit around and visit without worrying about the noise.

Sounds like the next shooting get together needs to be a trap/skeet shoot as there was some interest there.

aye....400 or so rounds of manly cal ammo....My hand is a little stiff already.

I liked Chaim's PT140. I'm finding myself to be a fan of DA triggers. A friend of mine has an FN49 9mm with a really nice DA trigger....

Is that anything like Mancow ammo? I've seen him on FoxNews but didn't know he had hsi own line on ammo :neener:

Definately a good time.

Thank you Deker for letting me shoot that Dan Wesson. I was impressed with their 1911s when they first came out and all I did was handle it at the Gun Rack, after shooting yours I am now extremely impressed.

Thanks Anapex for letting me shoot that Walther P99. Definately the P99 or the SW99 are on my list of wants.

Spot, thanks for letting me shoot the CZ40B again. Great gun, lighter than I remember, really fits the hand well and accurate. I may have to start shopping around for another one (well, once I'm working again).

Norton, the red dot sight on the Hi Point Carbine really does make it a new gun. With the higher sight putting my cheek higher on the stock it didn't hit me in the face anymore and made it much more fun to shoot.

A great time was had talking, shooting, and getting to try guns other than what I brought. I hope you guys enjoyed shooting the PT140 M. Pro and the .45LC Winchester 94 as much as I enjoyed shooting your guns. It was really nice to shoot my CZ 75B, I haven't been shooting it much lately (in addition to only making it to the range about once a month of late, I usually have been bringing other options). Of course, another 100 rounds out of my PT140 was a blast as well. The only real trouble was once or twice with the 94- .45LC doesn't have much rim so if you don't work the lever with the right amount of force there can be some feeding and ejection problems (only twice though).

I'm looking forward to the non-shooting get together. Some talk of a picnic at a really nice park in Annapolis (Clear Water- boating, possible fishing, really nice picnic areas, and of course a playground for the kiddies).

Girlwithgun was talking about trying to do a monthly shoot at On Target, if we try to do that I'll do my best to make it each time. It would be a good excuse to get out and do some more shooting.

Hehe...another convert :) Rumor has it that the build quality of the post-CZ buyout hasn't suffered at all. I still want one of their bobtails, but it'll likely have to be a little down the list for a while.

Thanks again to chiam and anapex for letting me try out their .40s and anapex's .380 as well. I gotta say I like that "mini-1911" style.

Glad to have met everybody (even if some of you did outshoot me with my own 1911 :banghead: ). I'll definitely try to make any monthly shoots, even after I move to PA.

Sorry we missed you nico, but I'm sure we'll catch up later. I'm sure you'll be happy with your new CZ.

Bedtime now, too much work to do tomorrow...

Deker, I was afraid that I may like that "mini-1911" style also. Anapex offered, but I turned down trying that gun. I'm trying to get away from .380s (though I do trust the caliber), especially those that will cost as much as a 9mm Kahr to buy and I didn't want to get hooked.

Now you see why I politely declined second mags on some stuff :) In all honesty I'll probably have a small frame revo as a BUG or pocket gun once I move, but something like that colt would be nice and small for summertime carry unlike a fullsize 1911. If I get my permit before I figure out exactly what I want, I'll be carrying that DW (already got a Milt Sparks SS2 for it, and my belt from Dillon showed up yesterday), but I'd really prefer something a little lighter.

You know you all want a Colt Government 380 now just admit it and go try and find one! The night went pretty good I think. I was expecting more to show up but I guess it worked out better because of them only having half of the range open. I do have to find a CZ 75 now though and trade 1911s with Norton. Can't wait for the next one!

:banghead: Arrgh! I knew I should have brought my Taurus 85 :banghead:

Oh well, maybe next time.
