Today I picked up a Century C-93 at a local gunshop (not the one I work at). It was new with two 40 round alloy mags and a bayonet.

I inspected it at the shop, the fit and finish looked excellent except for the alloy mags. One mag had some large spots where the finish was worn, but other wise seated perfectly. The lower containing the trigger pack looked like it was a cheap plastic copy of the military polymer lowers, but didn't look bad or weak.

I took it home and fired 100 rounds of some surplus Lake City 55gn ammo without a hiccup. It was also on target right out of the box, although I was just test firing it for reliability, not zeroing it.

I had an HK collapsible stock which fit perfectly, as did an extra set of Tritium sights I had. It functioned well with the factory stock (kinda cheap looking also, but functional) and the collapsible one (extended and collapsed).

The only problem I came across was that 30 round steel HK mags wouldn't seat properly or lock in, while the alloy 40 rounders (I have 10 total) all locked in properly and the ones I've tried so far functioned properly.

Other than the 30 rounders not working properly, I'd say it was a great rifle, much better than the HK 93 I paid $2300 for a couple of years ago and couldn't get it to fire more than 3 rounds without jamming (even after sending it to the HK factory).

Thanks for the review, glad you got a good one. The C-93 is on my short list.
If you get a chance, please post some pics. Cheers

Also am interested in your bolt before and after your trip to the range. Thanks

Any issues with the brass, other then the ding from ejection? I recall one of the first runs had overly-aggressive fluting in the chamber and was literally shredding shell casings into party-favors. See here: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=496069

The brass out of my C-93 looked pretty normal for an HK flutted barrel. No excessive pressure in the chamber.
