I have done several cerakote jobs at home that came out flawless. I tried to incorporate glitter on my most recent one and although it sprayed fine the glitter is buried in the paint and isn’t what I wanted. It’s also brittle and wants to chip.

I feel the next run I will cerakote and add a clear coat with glitter.

so back to my question. How hard is it to remove this stuff. I’m running garnet as per the instructions and baked per instruction.

If you plan on re-painting it with Cerakote their recommendation is coarse grit aluminum oxide media in a sandblaster. That’s what I have gone with and has always turned out great.

I was wrong. I’m using 100 grit alum oxide at 80 PSI per spec.

Blasting should take it right off. Start out at 50 psi and work your way up to remove the Cerakote. I prefer the 100-120 garnet for less dust.
