Something that I noticed yesterday on my XDm that didnt sit well with me. On top of the slide there is a Springfield engraving. In about half the engraving is this white substance which im hoping isnt corrosion or anything like that. theres also a tiny amount on some of the serrations. It looks like I chalked it to make out the engraving a little bit.
I clean the gun every time i come home from the range. I noticed it after I used Break Free powder cleaner. Im hoping its just left over residue from that or something. Any way, I always clean it. So I dont know if I might be doing something wrong? Normally I clean the outside of the slide with just a solvent or the powder cleaner. Should put some CLP or Oil on the outside of the frame and wipe it off? Im at work right now. When I get home Ill try to take pictures to show what I mean.
am I being overly paranoid?
