I have a chance to ask a question regarding Concealed Handgun License to a safety board of Oregon State University today (in an hour). I don’t want to make it confrontational, or argumentative, but thought provoking. I thought about using this wording? Any recommendations?

Does Oregon State University prohibit lawfully licensed individuals from carrying concealed handguns on campus? If so, why does OSU chose to take a potential tool away from students, staff, and visitors to the campus?

So Cubdriver - what question did you ask? Their response?

Inquireing minds ...

Well that is an interesting story as to what happened. Long story short the Honors College gal (a student) that was asking the questions to the forum didn’t ask it. It isn’t clear why; the forum ended 15 minutes early due the lack of any further questions. The staff was aware that I had submitted this question, and tried to figure out what was going on, but the MC dismissed the audience and panel anyway. After talking to some others that know her, they feel that she didn’t ask the question on purpose due to a personal hatred of firearms. Pissed me off to no end… Even while freedom of speech, and the importance of protecting that freedom was brought up, the MC was allowed to single-handedly suppress questions that I had been promised by the UHC staff would be asked, and they would ensure it was asked even if we ran out of time.

Needless to say I sent the four members an e-mail about it this afternoon asking, so I when I hear back I will post it.

The question, which I carefully wrote as to not be too leading, extremely biased, etc. was:
