I just spent the morning cutting trees and brush at the range I belong to.

There have been target frames at 50 and 100 and gongs at 150 and about 175. We cleared out a bunch of trees and brush up the mountainside and opened up a flat at about 200 meters that used to be used for sihloutte shooting. We will put a steel ram and a round steel plate up there as well as a target frame for anyone ambitious enough to climb up there and post targets.

The 200M area is up a pretty steep hill. Its basically level out to 100 then up the mountainside to 200. I don't know how far above the firing points the 200m area is.

What kind of sighting adjustments are necessary for shooting at targets significantly higher then your firing position? Or doesn't it matter?

None. It really doesn't matter.

Thanks. I read your post, Hank and got the rule of thumb. Then I went to the wikipedia article and began to read that. I had this horrible flashback to 11th grade trig. I was very  so I got another beer from the fridge and accepted that multiplying the distance by .87 will have to suffice for now.

Ah, cool, not where I thought, though.

I'm with West Shore Sportsman's Ass'n. in Lewisberry and our rifle range is set up in a very similar manner and we're working on some improvements as well.
