hi am new here. has anyone out there noticed changes in the consistency in their favorite ammo of late. i have been hunting with and plinking with remington.22 subsonic hollow points for years. here lately have become disappointed with them. i have used ammo from three different bricks in five different rifles . groupings have been all over the place at 60 yards.and also i've been noticing a very high percentage of "duds" . any where from 5 to 20% depending on the brick . you can actually hear the variation in the charges. i also noticed similar results with remington rifled slugs in my 12Ga. no duds but wild variations in charges . to the point that people that were standing near me noticed and said something about it before i did. what's going on with remington ammo. i have not had these problems with cci ,federal ,winchester or aguila ammo in either caliber. has anyone else noticed this ? at first i thought it was me or my equipment . that has turned out not to be the case. as soon as i switch ammo, problem solved (very tight groups), but as soon as i switch back i'm back to throwing stones being more accurate. maybe their quality control personnel are on strike or something. i am very disappointed . i've always used remington ammo with great results. with the economy in the crapper i can't afford to be blowing money on ammo that doesn't produce consistent results. my guns fill my freezer. so i guess from this point forward no rem. ammo.
