I've recently looked into their website and found the mausers. What i really need to know is has anyone had their grubby gun loving hands on one and what did they think about them. In the pictures they look great but so does the Big Mac.

I'll be interested in this too, especially if anyone has built a custom on one of their actions. Since my wife is a southpaw, finding a rifle she likes is proving tough, and I thought maybe building one using a Daly lefty action might work out.

As far as I know they are made by the same company that used to supply the Mark Xs to Interarms. Good quality commercial 98 Mausers. Not fancy, but decent. I have a "Mini Mauser" in .223 that has shot 1/2" groups at 100 yards.

I would buy one with confidence. I saw a dealer on AuctionArms offering these for around $280-$300.

Mini-mauser for about $300? I'm there :D . Anyone got reviews for the mini-mauser in 7.62x39, by chance? Don't want to stock too many more calibres, but a mini sounds awesome.

Yeah, I bought a m98 in 30-06 in a close out at a local gun store about a year ago. It was a great deal, but I was not in love with the gun- until I shot it. Oooh, that's one nice gun. I'm taking it hunting next season.

It is a field grade, not highly polished, but it is a deep and consistent finish. The barrel is 22 inches, and is fairly stiff. It is my second most accurate rifle (my Mark X in 270 is the undisputed leader).

They come with fully adjustable triggers and and are tapped for scope mounting. They are made by Zastava in Yugoslavia, which is a fine name in Mauser sport rifles, but they don't quite meet the finish standards of Zastava guns. Basically, they are very solid huning rifles, and nobody will out shoot you with it, in comparable calibers.

My only complaint was that she would not feed the first round from a full magazine. I had to use a file to knock a bit of metal off of the feed lips to allow it to feed from a full magazine reliably. The magazine was just a bit too tight, and the first round would tend to bind. My guess is that that not all rifles will have this problem, I just ended up on the left side of the bell curve.

If it is a good price, I would get it. You won't be ashamed of her, and she will serve you well for many years.

I getting one of their lefty actions to build a .338-06 AI and their .30-06 Field Grade lefty barreled action is on my list too.
I just wish they offered their .308 length action in LH too. :(

Sorry, it wasn't the Mini I saw for $300, it was the full size 98 rifle. The Mini is more.

Crazy, huh? More for less.

Gun World tested the mini-Mauser in 7.62 X 39 in a recent edition.
Jan Libourel, the editor, wrote the article.

He liked the rifle, but the accuracy wasn't as good as that shown by Minis in .223. He got groups of about 2.5 inches at 100 yards. His theory is that the twist rate and throat are like those used on AKs and AK clones. Changing the twist rate and tightening the chamber would help accuracy, he said. He got in touch with the manufacturer about it, but the article didn't say if changes were in the works.

I'd like one of them, but I'm going to wait and see if accuracy improves.

Fella's;

I posted a review of my Daly .223 LHB mini-Mauser on this site in the spring of this year. Mine was, perforce, the superior grade, standards weren't available at the time. I paid $489.00 for it.
