There are two different approaches that can be used to get what you want concerning pro gun legislation....let me use the following example:
A parent and child go shopping at Walmart, the small child wants a toy....parents say no, child begins whinning and begging. Parent still refuses.....now the child is desperate and begins getting louder, crying, and throwing a temper tantrum....parent is embarrassed and frustrated, other shoppers see the situation and want to beat the kid ....child has a 50/50 chance of getting what he wants.
....same situation, only this time the child motions the parent to come closer....gives the parent a big hug and whispers how much they love the parent....parent melts into a puddle of mush, bystanders all smile with affection and parent is proud as punch that this is their offspring....child has 90% chance of getting the toy. The difference in the two senarios is approach to getting what you want.
....Maybe it's not the best illustration, but we can't afford to alienate people opposed to our point of view. Congressmen and Senators need to feel comfortable aligning themselves with 2nd Amendment representatives. They don't want their image or picture taken with someone who might cost them votes. Professionalism will yield far greater results than a person holding an AK daring someone to try an take it away. Hollywood has already portrayed American gun owners as fringe redneck bubbas....we need leaders who portray a firm and professional image.
