I believe the part is the cylinder latch release, it's a screw in the back plate where the firing pin is, it's attached to the cylinder latch. I keep putting locktite on the screw, but every 4-5 times I go the the range it breaks loose and the screw turns as I shoot, eventually locking the cylinder in place so the cylinder latch won't allow the cylinder to open. Does anyone know of a more permanent way to fix this issue. It's a pain in the rear having to fix it. I like the gun. I attaching a link to an exploded view, it's part # 15.

This is typical and ordinary for CA. Personal experience. Have to retighten screws after every trip to the range. Even during a range session. Personally gave up (also because of the hammer spring) and retired the gun. Doesn't happen (EVER) to my Rugers. Just saying, from extremely personal experience. Please do not suggest a trip back to CA, which was ineffective.

If you are having problems with Lok-tite, try a small dab of RTV. Works like sticking a piece of rubber band in there.

May I suggest a wild and crazy idea? The retaining screw is blued. You might try overbluing it several applications with minimal carding between applications. Theoretically it should create a tighter fitting screw. Can't say I've ever actually tried it, though.

I tried a trick my dad recommended, I filled the back of the screw hole with clear nail polish after getting the screw out enough for the cylinder to open. So far after one trip to the range the screw hasn't moved. Hopefully this will work. I was surprised that the issue is the screw going inward, I thought it would come outward.
