Anybody know a place to get some cheap 308 ammo? unfortunately, I was didn't want to pull the trigger (pun intended) when aimsurplus had Tula on sale for about $120/500 rds. The cheapest I have seen since then is the-armory.com for $169.99/ 500 rds.

The cheapest decent ammo I've found recently is the "West German DAG" surplus About $90/200 rounds. I've found the ~ 4 moa Tula a lot of fun shooting ~6-8 moa steel plates. I really like the price, but that's really all it had going for it. The DAG is ~2moa in most guns I've tried.

I wouldn't touch Indian ammo with a 10' pole. If you're shooting any, please don't be within 5 lanes of me, I like my face as it is.

There is various good surplus - check out AIM and ammoman. DAG is good, Radway Green is good, Hirtenberger is good, South African is good but often overpriced.

Did I mention to avoid Indian surplus? Avoid Pakistani too.

PMC and Prvi Partizan make very good quality new ammo at reasonable prices - either one can currently be found for $10-12 per 20 rounds of 150gr FMJ. Check out AIM and Palmetto Armory.

If you want high quality match grade 175 smk .308win ammunition for $550 a case of 500rnds shipped check out my link ---> here

just to be clear, a 500rnd case of Federal gold Medal Match is $850 shipped. This is a savings of $300 for a better product.

So thats cheap, if you look at the quality to cost ratio :)

True, but I'd avoid Indian surplus too until I knew it was dramatically improved from two batches I bought years ago.

I've shot lots of the pakistani stuff in my FAL with no problems, not sure why anyone should avoid it.

I'm shooting a ptr 91. I like shooting steel cased ammo out of that, so I was thinkin more along those lines. Thanks everyone for the input so far
