how are they now?
Yeah--mine was $400 summer of 2008-- its not as finely finished as some, but it has been a great trooper on the range. It has given me almost no problems-- and maybe through a couple of thousand rounds or so, I have had maybe one or 2 FTF/FTE--- It was a spur of the moment buys, and I don't regret it. Probably won't sell it-- even though I was offered $800+ in "the scare" and even last week I was offered $700-- probably should have taken it, but mine is a known quantity, and sometimes 'the grass aint greener"..so I give a +1 for the WASR 10..here is mine...FWIW Afghani mujahadeen have passed down 40 year old AKs that were built with hand tools in a cave in Kyhber pass. The weapon was designed to be able to be slapped together from the worst of materials in the worst conditions and still work.
A WASR is a little rougher around the edges than an Arsenal, but will shoot just as well for just as long. Also the quality control of WASR's has greatly improved in recent years.
