Is there any rifle that will shoot 7.62 x 39

If you want a bolt action, the only one I have experience with is my CZ 527M carbine. It is very light, fast handling, accurate and reliable.

For an autoloader that isn't an AK or AR, your choices are limited to the SKS, (found anywhere), the Mini-30, (I have no experience with the Mini-30, just so-so luck with two Mini-14s in the past), and my favorite monster, the SA vz-58. It is as functionally identical to an AK as the pictured Mini-30 is, i.e., shoots the same caliber, feeds from a detachable box mag and is semi-auto, but is closer in concept to an STG-44 than anything else.

Just a couple of options.

+1 CZ-527M. Lights-out accuracy with the worlds cheapest ammo. What's not to love?

I haven't seen it mentioned (although I only skimmed the thread) so I'll mention that it does exit but I have no experience so this is not an endorsement.

PTR 32

You are leaving a number of guns out. Some that were already mention before in this thread. Sig 556R, XCR, PRT 32, Daewoo DR300 (as much as i like the 5.56 Daewoo I would skip the 300 they have bolt issues) Egyptian Rasheed, probably others I'm not thinking of.

Girodan, I was talking cheap and available. I haven't' seen a Daewoo imported for years, I have seen exactly ONE Rasheed on a gunshop shelf in my life, SiG's I see at WalMart, but all in 5.56mm, and I've never seen a PRT 32 or XCR anywhere. I'd consider that an "exotic" list, not a common list. However, I certainly cannot speak for the markets elsewhere, so they may be far more common in other locales. I did fail to mention the various AKM clones, ranging from nice to horrible.
I hope the Op can find what he is looking for. Have a nice day. :)

Well the thing about that is

A) you didn't qualify the statement in anyway.

B) The OP didn't ask a question with any qualifiers.

C) Considering that the guns you did make reference to AKs and ARs can easily run $700-1000+ the guns I listed are not really out of the same ball park.

D) Since the OP has an internet connection, as evidenced by his or her presence here, any of those guns should be really simple to order online.

But yes they are guns that are not as ubiquitous as an SKS (which the OP did say he didn't want) or the like.

I did not mention the 7.62x39mm AIA M10 series earlier because it is banned from importation into the USA per the US State Department due to part of the firearm being made in VietNam, which is a no-go firearm trade country.

Around 1000 AIA M10-A2 were imported into the USA prior to the ban.

On the average they sell for around $700 for used in good condition.

Specifically, the teak stock. I miss mine, selling that was a poor strategic decision.

For anyone who finds one -- it accepts AK magazines. I recommend parkerized ones to match the finish of the rifle. :)

Check out the CZ. Nice rifle and as accurate as the 7.62x39 is going to be. I think it's a 527 model.

After acquiring a CZ 527 Carbine and VZ-58 in 7.62...I am spoiled and see no need for any other 7.62x39's. Liked them so much that I also bought another CZ 527 in .223 & am on the prowl for a VZ-58 in .223. Love'm...
