I'm about to order a new rifle and do some excessive modifications to the factory stock including bedding the action. I figured while I'm at it I might go ahead and do a few cheap things to my Browning A-bolt II Hunter in .308. I figured I'd bed the action and free float the barrel. Anybody messed with an A-bolt doing this? Looking for some tips and advice. Do you think it would improve much over how it is?

never did any of that to mine since it shoots under a quarter at 100. But I would get the trigger spring from midway to make it a bit lighter. Since I use mine for hunting I wont cause it's light enough for that. But it would be a good thing to do.

I'm with garrett1955, my A-Bolt 30-06 shoots under a quarter at 100yds. I don't plan on doing any changes to it since its my hunting rifle. The only thing I would possibly do is lighten the trigger some.
