Magtech is good, alot of people seem to like it,nothing wrong with wolf but i can,t reload wolf.

WWB and the Magtech 250 rounds pack. All from Walmart. I may start buying .45acp in bulk now that I'm carrying the 1911 more often. Ran Wolf before, but could only bring myself to do it in my H&K Tac. Just didn't want to risk putting it through the 1911, though I hear it's no-worry ammo.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned CCI Independence yet. It's great stuff, and the last bunch I bought was $9.50 per 50 at Sportsman's Warehouse.

I'll bet you can find the brand at the Houston gun show.:)

Good point, but then I'd have to lug 60# (or more) of lead at least out to my truck and maybe around the show for a while. It suits me better to pay USPS or UPS to carry the stuff to my door. Roze will send 1k of the 200gr SWC to my house for $49. Northeast Bullet says they can send them for $43 a thousand, but i haven't tried them yet.

I have no problems feeding ANY ammo through my .45 revolver ;)

Also, the closest shop that I can get ammo from (and that I can buy from, since I'm only 17, but I'm on good terms with the owner) prices the stuff very high. CCI Blazer aluminum non-reloadable .45 ACP rounds go for 14 dollars a box. Don't even get me started on shotgun or rifle rounds. 18 dollars for a box of Hornady 170 grain flat nose 30-30 bullets.

Monoplies suck.

Deer Hunter,
I use WWB for .45ACP. I haven't tried Wolf or Blazer because WWB is easier to get.

The cheapest way to shoot is load your own. Whenever you go to the range put a 'tax' on yourself of $1-5 or more if you can. Put your additional cash aside and then keep your eyes open for a used press at a gun show of the want adds. Or wait and buy a new press. Some of the large companies like Natchez or Midway put them on sale from time to time.

Good luck.

I don't have the time to load my own rounds. I'm 17 with a pretty full load already. Raising a steer, keeping my AP class work up to speed, and having a social life takes a toll. I know what you're thinking, "If you have time to talk online on a gun forum, you've got time to make ammo!" Well, I don't get that much time really. I know a guy who loads his own stuff, I'll try talking to him about getting me some for a discount.

None of my friends shoot guns like I do, or even care enough about them to not sound stupid when they try to talk about them.
