Cheap rifle ammo...

The 7.62X39 is probably the least expensive on a regular basis but even it has experienced rapid prices increases. Every so often some really cheap junk like India 308 will hit the market but it sells out fast.

7.62x54r is pretty cheap too. Usually under $.20 a round. I would not look at cheaper than dirt for prices. Try AIMsurplus, wideners, and dansammo. I have dealt with the three and they have fair prices and pretty quick shipping. Of course, there will be a longer shipping time now because of the panic.

Try here to compare prices http://gun-deals.com/

CheaperThanDirt isn't, Don't waste your time (and your $$$) with them.

I've noticed that about them too. A year or two ago they were really competitive, but not so much anymore. Widener's seems to be pretty good right now though as well as Ammunition To Go.

Agreed 100%. Cheaper than Dirt (but just as nasty) isn't cheaper than anyplace and they are higher than most other places for their ammo.

For comparison shopping, this is a good interactive site:

Locally I'm buying 7.62x54R for $3/20 for surplus FMJ and $9/20 for soft nose hunting rounds (bear/barnaul).

I can find 7.62x39 for roughly the same price in FMJ, but x54R is the cheapest soft point I've seen.
