Hi guys,

I picked up a Glock 23 in a trade deal at the show over the weekend. Decent condition gun, rail light (didn't jazz me too much), 3½ lb trigger and a couple of other minor mods. I picked it up for a used Beta Mag :p

I already have one 23, but will ginuea pig this one with reloads instead of the one I own that has seen little range time.

Time to get a barrel with full chamber support. I really don't want to dump a whole lot into the purchase price, but don't want one that has to be fitted by a mechanical engineer with a carbide saw either.

I have noticed most of the commonly mentioned barrels are in the $150 and up range. I thought seriously about getting a G23 barrel once before and someone mentioned a barrel in the $100 (or less) range.

I have searched all over and can't find if I saw it posted here or on another forum.

Can someone give me the scoop on less expensive aftermarket Glock barrels ? Maybe a link ? I read that Olympic barrels are being used by some people but their website doesn't list them.

This gun will see less than 3000 rounds a year at the range. I don't need a comp, threads, or match accuracy, minute of steel plate will do just fine ;)

Thanks in advance for the help

You won't find a Glock barrel with total chamber support, but you can find one with more chamber support than the factory barrel. Try Lonewolf Distributors for a Federal barrel.

I've used Olympic Arms barrels in my G24 and G35 with excellent results. I will admit I had to hand lap the G24 barrel once to stop it from leading but aside from that accuracy with lead bullets is first rate and so is reliability. :D

I spent a lot more $$$ on a EFK Fire Dragon barrel for my G21 and had nothing but extraction problems with it.

Try Numrich gun parts even if you don't buy it's got alot of info.

I have a barrel from Lone Wolf for my G22 to use 9mm, has been working fine with no problems to note. Pretty dang inexpensive too.

Spent casings from my stock G22 looked like balloons so I shopped around and bought a KKM match barrel. Quality product.

It gives excellent support (no more deformation) and has improved accuracy:

Check out these test groups with a KKM barrel vs stock and read the article if you like:

The barrel drops in perfectly and has run flawlessly. No problems. IMO it's worth spending the few extra bucks. Hope this helps.
