Where is the cheapest place to buy lee classic turret press and associated equipment to get started in reloading.I used to reload a long time ago and think I'm going to get back in it. thanks. sj
PS. I used to use a 3 hole turret,is the 4 hole any better?

Midway...but wait for the sales! Also sign up with midway ahead of time and get email notice of offers. Eventually things you're after go on sale...10% here and there adds up.

I have spent more money at Midway than I would care to think about, much less than actually know. They have always done me right.

I don't know if they are always the cheapest, but they are at least as good as everybody else.

Regards,

Stinger

I have bought lots and lots of stuff from Midway. They are excellent to deal with, and ship fast. However, for small orders, I use Lock Stock and Barrel (http://www.lockstock.com/) as they don't beat me up over shipping small orders the way Midway does.

Lee is typically 20% off or more with a C&R.. i saved almost $200 on my last order at Midway.. too bad their ammo prices are rediculous even with a C&R though

What is a C&R?

Curio & Relics license.. an FFL that allows you to transfer older weapons.. 3 weeks, $30 on the credit card, and 5min to fill out the forms is all it takes. no CLEO signature required

Thanks for the clarification.
I assume you can get a discount w/ the C&R FFL?

Kempf's Gun Shop

Although they are a little more expensive, I buy from Kempf's Gun Shop in Michigan City, IN They are extremely helpful and know Lee equipment -- they use it for their own loading needs and have loaded tens of thousands of rounds over the years.

If you have questions they can answer them and they won't try to sell you something you don't need--I have no connection with them other than that they helped me when I was just starting with the New Classic Turret Press a couple of months ago. I bought everything I needed there.

For a few bucks more you get a real consultant there--Ask for Sue if you cal them--she knows about everything there is to know about the Lee gear.

In the back of the Lee book is a coupon for 50% off. This is for first time buyers. You get either over runs or stuff that is factory rebuilt.

Kempfs is my choice. I pay taxes, not shipping. Sue is a Single action Shooter and knows her stuff. The 4 hole is best for what I reload. 45 ACP and 40 SW. I use the FCD on my system.

I credit Kempfs with starting me on reloading.

Never thought about a C&R though....

I'll still buy my reloading stuff from Kempfs. Mr Kempf is not a big conversationalist but I'm working on him. :)

Good luck. You'll have a better chance of teaching a pig to fly

If anybody wants a good selection of Lee stuff, they've got it on hand

Lots a plugs for midway. And I do use them also.
BUT, Blackhawk is correct about the good pricing at F&M reloading supplies. Check 'em all out or a few anyway.
best-o-luck
