Does anyone here have any experience with this rifle. I have a chance to get one at a fair price, and it looks great, but have never shot one or even seen one. I have had 4 different Marlin 1895s, and two Henry all in 45-70, and do reload.
I have never handled an 1886 of any kind

They are heavy is the first thing you will notice.

They also generally have a slicker action. I’m sure that depends on how finely made it is though.

I would agree... however, the 1886 is a hell of a rifle.

I had a Browning 1886 SRC for a while, it remains my one Rifle I Regret Selling even after all these years. I'd take it over a Marlin 1895 every day, and twice on Sunday.... and I'm a Marlin guy.
