I just got this off another site form what appears to be a reputable Cook County (Chicago, IL) resident---
Please confirm if you can-
Read on-

New members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners
have proposed ordinances banning the sales of firearms,
accessories and ammunition in Cook County.

If enacted, these bans proposed by Commissioners Suffredin
and Beavers will prohibit any retailer from selling firearms,
accessories and ammunition in Cook County.

If your a resident of Cook County please call the board
member for your area.

Dial 312 603 6398 and you will be directed to your
board member.

Where have you been hiding?! NRA, ILRA and all the boards have been a chatter about this. Even if you're not in cook, contact all the commissioners.

I did - I don't live in Cook (but DuPage is awfully close), one was enough kind enough to write back and tell me "I will never support the reduction of our 2nd amendment rights!" SWEET.

I've been "hiding" in southern Illinois, raising my kids, and working 60 hrs a week, thus the reason I don't get on much.

I thought that it already was illegal to own guns, and ammo in crook county.

I lived in that city for 32 years, and couldn't be happier since I left. I don't miss it, and I haven't looked back. The only thing I miss is Home Run Inn and the Italian beef/Vienna hot dog stands. I am sitting in a Subway as I type this, .40 snugly on my side, with no worries. When I lived in Chicago, I had some lowlife empty 3 magazines into my house and 6 other houses on my block one night. He didn't spend one day in prison. Cook county? Get out while you can.
