I need some advice on why im having problems with my SKS. I have a chinese SKS norinco hich i bouht for a $100. Its a great looking gun but upon firing this weapon the last bullet in th mag would not chamber correctly and thus pushing the actual bullet down into the cartridge and cutting a small notch into the bullet. Now i am thinking the cause of this is the magazine spring if o all i need are some new ones but if anyone else has an opinion on this i would gratefully appreciate this.
I have taken some photographs of the gun and a comparison of a before and after look of the 7.62x39 rounds.
:)

I have not come across very many success stories of folks converting their SKS to a detachable magazine.

+1

The duck-bill 30 round after-market mags are all junk.
At least all of them I have ever fooled with have been.

Plus, without a bolt stop on the SKS, it takes two guys to hold the bolt open, and change magazines at the same time.

If you want an SKS to work 100%, put the orginial 10-round mag back in it and get a good supply of stripper clips.

You can't hardly run out of ammo with them!
A guy using strippers can shoot 60+ rounds while you are shooting 30 & attempting to change duck-bill mags once.
