I have a Chinese SKS that I purchased new in grease in Aug 1990 and was wondering a few thing?

Are all Chinese SKS made by Norinco?
How to find out when it was made?
Mine was imported by Keng's firearms specialty, INC.
Its matching numbers and has three chinese letters and a triangle on the side. Spike bayo and 10 round fixed mag. Came with cleaning kit, ammo belt, sling and instruction manual. Nothin that tells me a model number. I remember the store that I got it from told me it was unissued Chinese military, not sure if that means anything?

I'm curious so please help.

As I understand things, Norinco is the umbrella name for the 'retail' side of the Chinese gubbm'ts small arms industry - it does not denote a specific manufacturer. The various factory symbols can be seen at www.simonov.net or Carbines for Collectors.

There is no way to know, best I can tell, exactly when it was made. A good history, including rough manufacture dates, can be found here.

I think, though I am not sure, that Norinco is an umbrella rbernie says. As to when it was made, there appears to be no way of knowing. Norinco, appearantly, will not tell anyone what the symbols mean.
