chokes

need to know with a smooth bore barrel is it safe to run any kind of ammo and what chokes would I used for each one.
unfortunately I am a green horn when it comes to shotgunning and I have no mentor but the books and mags that I read. can you guys help?

You either need to define this better or seriously do some reading about shotguns

Generaly improved cylinder and modified chokes you can shoot birdshot to slugs without a problem in full choke guns usually use birdshot or buckshot no slugs.There are exceptions to full chokes that shoot slugs but normaly accuracy is lost.If you are going to shoot steel shot get a choke tube for steel .But once again people do shoot steel in lead only chokes so there really is no definate answer for you.
