I am looking in to buying my first shotgun, and while choke shopping I had settled on getting a modified choke for all purpose shooting. The choke I was originally looking at was this one. Then I was looking at chokes on Remington's website and I found this.

My question is are these two chokes the same or are they somehow different? Remington and there use of terms like "Flooded Timber" or in this case "Over Decoys" has me really confused.

looks like one was desingned for non toxic shot and is an extended version.
there both rated for steel shot so both should work with lead, steel and the non toxic shot im familiar with, so performance wise there probably isnt going to be any difference between the 2 assuming they are both the same restriction.

One's flush and the other one is extended. Otherwise no difference. I like flush for hunting and extended for targets because I can change them with just my fingers. I just use a quarter for the flush ones, but I check them regularly. Make sure to remove the tube regularly and clean the threads and re lube them or you could end up with a fixed choke gun. They will get stuck. Most Expresses come with the modified flush tube by the way.

Thanks.

The shotgun I am looking at is the 870 tactical, which comes with that "tactical choke".:barf:
