So, I have been looking and looking, fondling and handling different guns.

I have posted threads about 2 cheap guns being better than one mildly expensive gun.

Well, I brought my wife to the gun store today, with cash in my pocket to do some shopping. Before Christmas, I had looked at a P-11, P-32, and Makarov. Wasn't sure which I wanted.

Got there today, and the P-32 was gone, the Makarov was actually a Norinco, and they were asking $300 for the P-11. And, Kel-tec will have that .380 out soon. Hmmm. Oh look, a NAA Black Widow! Nah. I wanted something I could use as a primary CCW. They had a Taurus Model 85UL with the gold trim and rosewood handles. The wife liked that one...I didn't go for the whole porting thing though.

But what's this here? Oooo...a Ruger SP-101. I have wanted one of those for, well, a while. But, a bit more $$$$$ than I had hoped for. A bit more than I had on me.

Then my wife says, "Greg, I've got $140 in my pocket. Merry Christmas." :D

What a great wife I have.
It's stainless steel, 2" barrel...they wanted $410 for. Since it was my first gun at a new shop, I didn't try to haggle too much. Guy ran my Concealed Pistol Permit, and I walked out the door with it.

Best thing? While I did the paperwork, my wife was fondling a Guardian .380. She looks at me and says, "I DO have a birthday in April, you know."

Can't wait to use it!

Merry Christmas! You got yourself a good one indeed ;) (referring to your wife :) ) Congrats on the new addition.

Too bad you passed on the Makarov. The Norincos are the most rare Mak variant, and will fetch upwards of $250 on the collector market.

Congrats on the SP-101. It's hard to beat a good snubbie for up-close and personal social encounters.

Thats as good as when my wife to the gunshop with me and bought me a Ruger KGP-141 for my birthday two years ago.
