picked up a Kimber Compact CDP II as my early Christmas present.

I actually bought it to replace a Pro CDP II that I had, and had to sell last year due to relocating expenses.

anyways, Merry Christmas to me!

Happy Christmas!
I am no big fan of Kimbers but have to say those are some fine looking handguns.
I hear, on good authority, that old Saint Nick packs a Browning High Power during his annual run.

What a wonderful early Christmas you've got. A great looking gun, almost a work of art. It doesn't get any better than that!

I'm thinking an Ultra Carry in SS but right now I'm getting a "no", just like the commercial. :(

Are there any differences in the pistols other than name? BTW, really like the melted look on compact 1911s.

main difference between the two is that one has a full-size grip and Commander length slide, whereas the other has officer size grip and commander size slide.

I really like the "melt" treatment Kimber does on all the pistols in the CDP line.

Dont you just love Christmas. Just bought myself a NIB Kimber pre series 2 Pro CDP.

Nice looking pistol Tony. And here I thought I'd successfully converted you to the Para-Ordnance line. Oh well, maybe your next one.

BTW, I've pretty much narrowed down my choices for my next pistol; either a P/O TAC-S or a P/O Spec-Ops Carry LDA.

yeah Frank, I was convinced on the para too, then I saw that Kimber. I've wanted one since I got rid of my last one. This one WILL NEVER BE SOLD. if I'm homeless, sleeping under a bridge, I'll still have this one!!

that para TAC-S is definitely next on the list though. :D gotta start saving my pennies now. then again, my birthday is only a couple months away. ;)

I've got PLENTY of full-size mags, and just got my 4 new wilson combat officers length mags in the mail today. so I think I'm set for a while on 1911 mags.
