Chrono buying problems

Competition Electronics

Another vote for the Competition Electronics ProChrono with the Remote. (you need the remote to download your data to a laptop or PC). Even at the same cost as the chronograph, the remote is well worth it if you shoot at a public shooting range.

I've had mine for 5 years and am still very happy with it.

I bought a Chrony and I'm very happy with it, but I have noticed that the box doesn't quite become flat when it's unfolded. This may be why the Oehler consistently reads about 15 fps slower in side-by-side tests. Just a hunch. Nevertheless I'm big on the Chrony and would recommend it to anyone. Good luck.

If someone finds themselves in a situation where it's inconvenient to stop the line in order to change the string on the chronograph, they can simply note which shots are for which loads in the current string. Later, the velocities can be entered into an Excel spreadsheet and the average and std deviation can be easily calculated using the =avg and =stdev functions.

My bigger issue at my club's indoor range is that the target carrier will hit the chronograph when I change targets so I have to make the range safe anyway to manually change the target down range (though I do wait until it's convenient for the other shooters).
