I did a quick chronograph test of 2 30-30 loads with the new 160gr Flex tip bullets on Thursday.
Loaded 31.5gr H4895 with the standard crimp die to the cannelure. Loads averaged 2080fps out of the 20" barreled 94 Win. Not tested for accuracy.
Second load was 32.5gr of Varget and averaged 1990fps. Shot 5 rounds of each. Cases looked great.
Also shot some Prvi-Partizan 180gr FMJBT factory ammo from my M44 Mosin and average was 2480fps. I do have 3 boxes of 180gr SP ammo, but did not try them. The Mosin is in a synthetic ATI with recoil pad, thank God. Still an awesome flame from this ammo out of this short barrel. I did not shoot for group with iron sights at 100yds, with these old eyes. Great truck gun.
