hey gang i have a friend who just picked up a CD 1911 field and wants to trade it on another more (heard of) brand do the CD parts interchange with standard 1911 parts?are the mags interchangeable? ti seems to shoot pretty darn good but all i have had were colt's and one old ratty oly arms safari. so if you could i would like some help here (made in the philipines) as i am the one that will end up doing the trading for him. No first-hand experience, but what I've heard is that the new CD 1911s are serviceable while the older CD 1911s were quite good for their price point. Parts should be interchangeable as much as any 1911 parts are -- many will require some hand fitting.

The Charles Daly 1911 was made by Armscor of Phillipines. Armcor also makes the Rock Island 1911s. These are standard 1911s, but there is really no such thing as a drop-in part for a 1911. Hand fitting is almost always required.

Well ... grips, two-piece guide rods. Pins. Maybe a thumb safety, if you get lucky ... A couple pieces that don't require smithing :p

I had a armscor 1911. If dalys are the same then some parts should drop in. On my armscor I bought some used kimber parts and they went right in. I changed out the trigger, hammer and sear as a set and the grip safety. It fit and worked great. Mark

Got a Daly a few years ago. Changed out the extractor, slide lock thingy, firing pin and spring, and the firing pin retainer plate with Wilson stuff. Gun runs very well, and is very accurate. I have crappy mags right now, but with Wilson mags it runs like a Swiss watch. Finish is a bit rough, but it kinda does the job. All the parts needed some fitting BTW. When I bought it I know it had about 250 rounds through it, and I gave $200 for it. I did OK I think.
