I noticed that Ciener is now converting their low caps mags to high cap for a fee.

Does anyone know what they do to the 1911 low caps to convert them? Is it anything simple like just replacing the back plate? I'm thinking of having it done but if they are only replacing a simple part, then I'd rather just order the part and do it myself. I need to disable one of mine and take a look at how they restricted it.

I'm pretty sure they have to mill the body a bit deeper.

I've got a couple of 10 rounders with this set up, but I didn't think it was worth the expense to turn them into 15 rounders.

My dad just received the Ciener conversion kit I ordered for my 1911 (mostly so a recoil wuss like me can learn to shoot it properly, and so my mom can learn to shoot, and so I can introduce others to the joys of shootin' stuff wi' short guns) with three fifteen-round magazines; I'll have to let y'all know if it's the freaking business or not.

With the Beretta mags, it looked like one mill cut down the back would get you extra space. They may add a longer spring but I am not sure. Everything else looks the same.
