I saw a Cimarron Model P in charcoal blue last night. Interesting. It had a screw in cylinder pin that I wasn't too crazy about but then I noticed something like an aluminum insert in one of the cylinders that said something about being a safety of some sort and that you were not supposed to remove it. What gives? Is this a 5 shot revolver or a 6 shot? It is new in the box but the cylinder pin is missing.

No SAA made with the original Colt design is safe fully loaded with six rounds.

The aluminum insert you speak off comes out, but you still should carry it with an empty chamber under the hammer, as with all Colt SAA designs.
They say not to remove it for CYA legal reasons.

All Colt SAA six-shooters are in reality, five-shooters if you want to carry them safely.

Later designs like the Ruger New-Model have a transfer bar safety and are safe fully loaded.

Thanks rc....I didn't look closely enough to tell if the "plug" was in fact removable. I surmised what you said but wasn't sure. Appreciate the reply.
