I have a 5-1/2" Cimarron Model P .45 Colt with the black powder frame. Love it, and it's very good looking. I'm thinking about buying another one, but this time with the cross-bolt for the base pin and chambered in .38 Special/.357 Magnum.

My .45 is clearly marked as being manufactured by Uberti.

I just looked at a video on YouTube of the unboxing of a brand new Cimarron "Frontier" revolver. The box was clearly marked Pietta.

Has Cimarron switched from Uberti to Pietta? Is only the "Frontier" model a Pietta? What's the deal here?

As said above, they (Cimarron) import some of the same models in both. In the end, though, I think it is a wash in quality between pietta and Uberti right now.

I like my Pietta Cimarron.

As I mentioned on another thread, I have a Cimarron and it's a Pietta. Great revolver, looks nice, fit and finish is wonderful, and it was a reasonable price. I bought mine in a moment of weakness, as I'm not a revolver guy... but it was just too pretty to pass up for the money they wanted! :)
