Hey, it would be GREAT if all the Commie money coming from overseas to the Democrat party went to Sheehan instead!

And without that piece of knowledge, which no one (except his family and friends) has, any discussion of whether his mother's actions do or do not degrade his memory are simply drivel.

Nonsense.

The criticism of Cindy Sheehan isn't that she disagrees with the war, or that her disagreement is in opposition to her son's positions. It's a free country: everyone has the right to disagree with whatever they want to disagree with.

The criticism of Cindy is that she's making an idiot of herself by disagreeing with the war in such a monumentally self-absorbed, irrational, bigoted, self-promoting, near-psychotic manner.

If I was an anti-war activist, I'd be embarrassed about Cindy. She's a discredit to the people in her camp. She's even more degrading to her son's memory if he really was against the war.

I recall seeing Casey's father and stepmom on the news
saying what an embarassment Cindy was.

Of course we can't ask Casey, but his actions and what his father and stepmother (who also raised him) say,
have me covinced that he was fully aware of what was
going on and the consequences.

Methinks the motivations for Cindy Sheehan's actions go much deeper than just being against the war. Regrets for choices made perhaps?

Methinks she just found the biggest "Hey Look At Me" sign she could and will wave it as long as anybody acknowledges it

another consideration.....

here's another piece on this:

let's say for the sake of conversation that cindy sheehan's stance was in line with her son's thinking. let's also say that despite her questionable associations and jew-hating talk, she was actually quite sincere about opposing the war...not just an opportunist. shouldn't people be taking issue with the fact that if she did run, she would be running on a platform that had one facet. she expresses no views or understanding of anything else. what if she was elected and we pulled all or most of our troops from iraq?

i suppose nothing could be much worse than feinstein, but this woman says she "has no illusions of winning". well that's terribly short-sighted and irresponsible, and i think she should be dismissed based on that fact alone. i hope she does get elected. and i'll laugh, just like i did when new yorkers voted for hillary clinton. you get what you ask for.

Well, I think she made Bush look like a fool and a coward (not hard) when she camped out on his doorstep in TX, but since then she has become a bit of an embarassment.
How exactly did she make him look like a fool and coward? By the time she was camping out in Crawford he'd already met with her once and her political agenda had come out and became obvious. Even my uber-liberal former cube mate (who kept wondering where a Hinkley clone was) thought Bush would be beyond stupid to have met with her while she was camping out.

Agree it was a no-win situation for him, but largely due to conditions he created with his bungling in Iraq. Ergo looking like a fool. It would have also taken a very big man to pull off the meeting. Ergo the coward.
