Got three of these CKRT Offbeat II's from Knife Center. On sale for $18.95

Easy open and easy close. Interesting lock design. Light and 8Cr13MoV steel. After having this for a few days, I found I like this one a lot. I purchased three so I could give two of them away. Sharp, did I say sharp. I shaved yesterday with it (not really but had to elaborate for the post). It is sharp enough to shave. Carries nice in the pocket. Good hand feel.

Wow. I'm surprised you can find a knife with decent steel that's not a liner lock for less than 20 bucks. How do you like that lock? I haven't had one with that style, though from what I can see, it reminds me a little bit of the Spyderco Compression Lock

Yes, I was more than impressed. Still am. Carried it all weekend. Wife and I took a mini vacation. The checkering or what ever you want to call it, is rough. It locks up tight. Going to Germany with me tomorrow. Can’t find it cheaper than the knife center. Let me know if someone wants to review one. Talking to you steadyd.

Absolutely. I’m intrigued by that lock design and I’m actually a fan of 8CR. With all of the super steels out there I think a lot of folks overlook how good a well heat treated “budget” steel can be.

I am leaving for Germany tomorrow. Be back Saturday. PM me as to where to send. Might not be shipped til I am back.

I thought so considering the lock up, the metal used for the blade, and my experience with another CRKT knife using the same lock method. It is also on closeout with higher prices at other sources. I will send one to steadyd next week and see what he thinks. My opinion is that of a novice. I don't even fully know yet what I don't know.

I’m no expert! Not even close! I will send it back with a high polished edge though!
