Clean ammo vs dirty ammo: which is which?

Swiss made 9x19 RWS-Ruag was about the cleanest I have used. I have bought some Hungarian made RWS-Ruag .45Auto and hope it's just as good.

Winclean is amazing. What doesn't burn is ejected as granules. The brass is so clean you would not even need to clean the inside before reloading. It's as shiney as the outside. No fouling in the casing equates to pretty much zero fouling in the gun from what I've seen. I bet other than shaking out any unburned granules now and then you could shoot this stuff for 5000 rounds or more with no need to clean the gun. Just add oil as the wear surfaces get dry and keep on going.

winchester white box is dirty as hell...and i second RWS as being very clean

the other well known brands...Rem, Fed, etc. for me have been pretty much equal on the dirtiness scale (dirty, but not crazy dirty like WWB)

Most any Russian ammo is dirty as all get out. All ammo will leave a residue just some less than others. Winchester White Box and Blazer is pretty dirty as well, but the price is right. Blazer Brass is the better of the cheaper stuff. Fiocci is OK.
