I'm looking to get an inexpensive in-line rifle like the T/C Impact SB or CVA Wolf but have a question about cleaning. The cleaning videos produced by T/C just mention cleaning the barrel and breech plug. In the CVA videos the good old boys tell you to also remove and clean the firing pin and spring. Should that also be done with the T/C Impact or is it designed so that powder cannot get back into the firing pin area?

I've been shooting a CVA Optima Elite for about 10 years now.
I've never removed and cleaned the firing pin and spring. I just cock the hammer and spray some Ballistol down there each time I clean it. Not a lot.

Maybe I should be, but I've never had a problem yet.

Thanks all. It appears the firing pin on the Impact is not designed to be removed as part of regular maintenance. On the CVA it easily screws out so it makes sense they recommend you remove it for cleaning.
