Yesterday my new muzzleloader arrived. I purchased the thumb hole stock package with the Konus Pro 275 scope. Read the owner's manual, which was very good and proceeded to take the rifle apart. All I needed was two straight edge screw drivers. It takes less than 5 minutes to remove the barrel and the firing pin bushing. The breech plug is removed by hand. Cleaned it and put it back together. Very, very easy. CVA also has some great beginner videos on line.
Snowing here, so I have not yet shot the rifle. I have the Powerbelt Platinum Aerotips in 270 gr, IMR White Hots and Winchester Triple Seven 209 primers. This is the last week of muzzleloader season here and I plan on dialing in the scope in the morning and hunting as much as possible the remaining season.
My first muzzleloader. So far, I am pleased. The system simplicity is amazing.
Now to shoot the rifle. I'll post some updates.

I've got the same rifle, with a nikon scope. I've tried all of the power belts, with a variety of pellets and all shoot good enough to take deer.
My best and most consistent groups on paper targets have been with triple 7 209s, 2 white hot pellets and a Barnes 290 grn TMZ boat tail bullet/sabot, 1'' 3 shot groups at 100 yards every time.
I have the special breech plug for shooting Blackhorn 209 loose powder, but haven't tried it out yet
The easy start muzzle is a nice feature.

Have Fun!

Dave,
Thanks for the load data.
Which Nikon are you using? Is it necessary to clean the barrel after each sabot shot?

Jim

It's a Nikon Monarch 4-16x42SF with the BDC reticle. Not really necessary to clean after every shot although i did when i was doing my load testing. I cleaned with T7 presoaked patches, 2 passes left the bore bright and shiny.

What a solid rifle. The snow and wind finally let up so I headed out to my woods. I have a 215 yard range in a creek bottom on the east side of property.
Two white hots and Powerbelt 270 gr. Aerotips. First shot at 100 yards was 1" low and 2" left. Nice bore sighting job by CVA.
Next 6 shots were spent getting familiar with the trigger. It is darn near match grade. I have several custom pistols and rifles and the CVA trigger is right there.
Last three shots were sub 1.5". I am perfectly satisfied. With practice this will be an exceptionally accurate rifle. Heck, I'll take sub 1.5" out of the box any day.
BTW I was using sand bag rests.
