I have two Dewey one piece cleaning rods, one for .22 and one for .30 calibers.
They have male threads on the end, but each came with a brass adapter which is female at both ends to allow you to put in male threaded rod tips.
I have lost the one for the .22 and can't figure out what to order to replace it.
The midwayusa.com site lists several adapters, but the sizes make no sense to me. They are listed as 8 x 32, 8 x 36, 10 x 32, etc. Well, the threads on the .22 rod measure (in diameter) .156 English and just under 4 mm. metric, neither of which seems to be the measurement involved.
The picture in the printed midway catalog looks just like the one I lost, but none of the adapters on the website do.
The closest I can get to a guess is that the first number is the length of the threads in millimeters and the second is the diameter in whatever a tenth of a millimeter is. (A millionmeter?)
Help.
