Mosin Nagant cleaning rod adapter

I found a screw with an interesting nut in it that was an inch long and looked to be held inside a hole by crush fit. I cut it down to 3/4" with a file and was left with an internally threaded piece about 5/8" that threads onto the cleaning rod to take standard 8-32 threaded brushes. Couple that with an adapter that makes metric brushes work with standard rods, and I'm all set
