So I finalyl bought a cheap Sonic Cleaner from Harbor Freight. It was like $84 before their always existent 20% off coupon. I bought a bottle of their cleaner powder mix, it was worthless.

I then mixed 1 part water to 1 part Purple power, turned the heating part on and threw in a dirty BCG, Bolt, Baffles and pistons into the cleaner set it and walked away. The cleanrer only will run for a max of 480 secs per session so I did come back a few times and reset the timer but after about 3-4 cleanings the baffles were cleaner than they have ever been, the pistons looked nearly brand new and the BCG still was dirty but it came right off with a toothbrush.

IT definitely worked.

Some people have mentioned throwing entire pistol lowers into it. I am very hesitant, anyone do that?

Is heating up purple power to 180 degrees causing any toxic fumes I sohuld be concerned with? I obviously don't stand over it breathing it in but I do run it in my garage.

Is it safe to leave the purple power in the cleaner or should I empty it and clean it out when not in use?

anyone have suiggestions / tips?

Curious to know what and where to get Purple Power. I bought the Hornady sonic cleaner and their brand of cleaner and didn't do diddly squat to the baffles on my Axiom. I've been using a wire brush.

Purple Power can be bought from Lowe's home improvement stores. It comes in a white jug with a cheesy black and purple label on it.

Home Depot sells a purple degreaser under the ZEP brand name that is, in my SWAG, twice as strong as Purple Power. It comes in a blue jug with a cheesy white label.

Dollars to donuts, I'll take the stronger ZEP. I can dilute it down as needed. Just be careful, because if the concentration is too high, or the exposure time is too long, it can cause some discoloration of various steel finishes.
