I just skimmed several THR threads that the search function revealed for me on the term "CMMG," this one (http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=355012&highlight=cmmg) being what I thought the most promising, but I'm not finding an answer: is CMMG out of bargain bin ARs? Their bargain bin page now shows ARs in .45 (which I do like the idea of :)), mags (also, something I want a few of) and some folding Benelli shotguns.

However, I was clued in to the CMMG bargain bin only a few months ago; I hope someone will tell me "Yeah, this happens once in a while, then they build up stock again," rather than "Nope, that was the last of the best-deal ARs."

However, even disappointing information beats none at all ;)

EDIT: Ach -- I missed out, it seems from this post; http://thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=4362418&postcount=1
Shoulda leapt a few days ago ;)

I was under the impression that they discontinued their bargin bin rifles because they were having so much trouble filling the massive increase in orders they're received lately. I asked about an order for an 18" SPC sitting that's been sitting in limbo, and they mentioned that most of their time was spent answering bargain bin questions and filling the resulting orders. They needed to free up personnel and time to to get their products out of backorder sooner, so they had to discontinue the bargain bin deals. I think they also closed their storefront to all walk-in traffic. don't quote me on that - that's just what I heard . But maybe that means they'll bring back the bargain bin rifles one day when they aren't so far behind and their resources aren't stretched so thin. I hope so, cause those rifles are some of the best values out there.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the BB rifles are discontinued and will not return. True they were selling a ton of them (I bought 2), but the profit margin was small. They started these to keep their staff at work when business slowed down, they were deluged with orders, but the reason for the stopage was that some "customers" were calling the shop and giving a lot of grief and even cussing out the sales staff on the phone demanding that their rifles be delivered sooner. It reached a point that several of the staff (this is a family run business) were threatning to quit over the abuse. Check out a few of the postings on AR15.COM to see a few of the rants. I personally tried to explain to the ranters that if the rifle took an extra week longer to be delivered than promised, it would well be worth the wait, but to no avail. It's a shame that a few ruined it for the many. I got an M4 and a 20" H-bar that were absolutely flawless in function and cosmetics. The orders that were already in will be honored, but for the rest, the ship has sailed. it's an absolute shame that such a small number of #$%#$ were able to end such a great deal for everyone else.
This is not hearsay, I spoke with the manager on Thursday.

that certainl;y sucks. seems like a few D(*&^^ ruined it for everyone. the BB rifles were an awesome idea, and basically the last thin iv seen in reasonably priced American rifles. they were what a gun show is supposed to be. shops unloading gear at discount store prices.

offthepaper has it exactly right and it's a shame this was an exellent way to get new people introduced to the ar rifles.I bought 1 in november and I was so impressed I started saving for at least 1 more, but no dice.I have heard some grumbling that some other companies will do the same due to the popularity of the sale, but we'll see.Right now the only other rifles I know of that come close is the dpms sportical and century's c-15.

This just goes to show what's the true price of AR could've been. $600 AR should sell well.

CMMG sells a bunch of things at the MO gun shows, and the bargain bin rifles will continue to be sold there. They only began online sales due to a huge inventory, and that inventory is apparently depleted (and if they were taking grief over the extra work, I don't blame them either).

I guess those of you far away from here get to suffer; us Missourians still get cheap ARs.
