As the thread title states, what is the best possible combination of parts you can get from a bargain bin ar-15 at CMMG? I'm not really knowledgeable about the quality of AR brands other than the general ABCD's.

In other words, "What should I root/hope for?"

I know they piece together Doublestar, DPMS, CMMG, and Armalite/Eagle parts. I'm just curious because ordering Bargain Bin is kind of like the lottery. Sometimes you win, sometimes you just get a decent budget rifle.

I am happy with mine. It's a CMMG upper and a DMPS lower.
My brother's is a also a DPMS lower but I don't remember what type of upper.
Both function well and are pretty accurate.
I have not heard any complaints regarding their Bargain Big guns.

Considering the small number of actual drop forgers, that the CNC shops that finish the parts are under two dozen, and that there are actually few barrel makers for the number of brands out there, the big middle ground of parts really comes from a bunch of the same shops. Regardless of roll mark.

CMMG is taking advantage of buying cosmetic blems and assembling good rifles based on the milspec standard that allows various makers to put out nearly identical parts. I'm not saying "Parts is parts," and there isn't any difference in quality. I am saying it's like car parts - a cast 350 Chevy piston from most reputable makers is pretty much all the same, a commodity item. And, like, AR's, they also have only a handful of makers.

I haven't heard of a CMMG buyer who has found the blem on a part, or was disappointed with the accuracy or functioning. Unlike Century, they seem to have a good rep and are enjoying good sales.

I have 2 Bargin Bin Rifles.
A 16" Carbine and a 20", I actually prefer the 20", but the carbine is still pretty cool. Both rifles have been flawless.
It's a very good AR entry rifle.
