When I posted my write up of CMMG's stainless steel ar15 .22 conversion, someone posted that they'd like to see a target shot from a solid rest.

The temperature climbed to a balmy 42 today and I got home before dark, so I took my bags (both benchrest and marital :D sorry dear!) and shot some groups.

Here's the best of the short afternoon; I'm on the left and Mrs. Halfded on the right. That's a 1936 silver half in the middle for size comparison. My lucky rabbit's foot, if you will.

Shot from 25 yards using a front rest (Caldwell bag) with iron sights.

Got about 180 rounds through the conversion altogether now and still no trouble whatsoever, other than my stock of .22 ammo running low at a rapidly increasing rate!

The weather's supposed to hit the 50's on Friday and Saturday and I'm hoping to get out for a good, long shoot for my birthday  Really get everything broken in nicely.

This will be the first time I'll be taking a cleaning kit to shoot with me with the intention of actually having to use it. I'm really looking forward to it. Might even get my mom out with me for a while. She's not a shooter, but thinks my guns are "neat" and has shot some of my .22's and a .38 a couple times.
