I just ordered an M1 from CMP. Thanks to this forum, I found out about the program:D . Does anyone know what the current time is to fill orders? I ordered the service grade.

Thanks

.

Whatever it says on the website for the specific rifle and grade you ordered.

If it has nothing noticed next to it on the website, expect 30-60 days.

Thanks for the reply.

There was nothing indicated on the web site for Service Grade. So, I was hoping someone had some experience with it.

Thanks again
.

I've ordered rifles from the CMP quite a few times. I've gotten stuff usually in 4 weeks and as long as 6. The stuff I've ordered where in stock. The turn around time is also varies depending on the amount of orders they get and for what items.

That's why I stated 30-60 days since that's realistically what you should expect.

In recent orders, I would get an email after about a week of receipt stating that the order was received. Then 2 weeks later it would post in the estore. Then a week later it would ship. But I have 2 active orders right now, one for a bare receiver, and one for 2 rifles that are taking longer than that to process. It's all about patience.

earlier this year i ordered a rack grade, after my order processeed i found out they were back ordered 60-90 days, upgraded to field grade and had it in a week. so about 3 weeks total even with the order change.

Depends on the grade and whether it is a return from Greece, etc.

I ordered a Field Grade USGI SA recently and received it in 6 weeks despite the 90 - 120 day disclaimer on the CMP site. (Worth every moment of the wait.)

They give conservative estimates so that there will be more people happily surprised than disappointed I think.

Can somebody explain the grade ratings and what I should expect?

If you supplied an e-mail addy, they will e-mail when the order is recieved and begininng process. After that it is about 2-3 more weeks, and they will shoot you an e-mail letting you know that it is shipping. Since it comes overnight from Fed-Ex, you will get it the next day after they e-mail you that it shipped (they will include tracking number for you to check on the web).

The last time I order from the CMP which was last year, I fedex'd my order for a Service Grade M1 and they received it on a Monday. I received my rifle on Friday of that same week. I was surprised at the quick turn around but then again they ship the rifles out of Anniston, AL which is not too far from where I live.

COOL...

Thanks for all the replies. I did supply my email so I am glad to hear they communicate well. As you know, when buying a new gun the wait is the worst. According to the website the service grade M1 Garands are in-stock and they are rifles that were loaned to Greece.
