CMP North or South

I'm planning a mid-March CMP trip to pick up a couple Garands. This will be my first Garand and I'd like to hand-pick it. The North and South store are about the same distance from me.

Which store would you recommend going to? The North will be open again by the trip.

Initially I would have said go to the South store, but I'd like to see what kind of rennovations they're making up North. I get the impression it will be on-par with the South store when they're done.

If you decide to go North you can hang out on Lake Erie and go the the amusement park in Sandusky.

If you decide to head South you can always go hang out in Atlanta.

Nothing against the folks at CMP North as I was on the phone with them a bit leading up to my Garand's arrival. However, once I got on the phone with CMP South, call it a North/South thing if you want to, but it sure was refreshing to hear an Alabama accent. Besides, Anniston's closer to me, so I'd automatically go there. Unless I were headed for Camp Perry anyway with the National Matches... CMP, IIRC, usually has a big display at the matches rather than being in the store.

You might want to check with North and see if their construction/expansion is on schedule. My cousin works warehouse/factory construction in the general area, and his company has had lost time and delays caused by weather on 2 projects within 15 miles or so of Camp Perry.

Whatever you do, make sure they are open on the day you are going.
