I loved the line in the video where he says that women are better at shooting because "ladies follow instructions."
Another doozie from the story:
"Women are different than men, they do their research." In my experience, that is 100% false. Just because women ask a lot of questions in the initial phases of their interest, does NOT make that "research." It is guys who actually research brands/models/calibers/fit/price etc.
I also love how the story glorifies these idiotic internal locking mechanisms, which the dealer says women are asking for.
There were quite a few disturbing trends that were put on display in this story:
1. It's nice that women are taking up guns, but have you noticed how women are becoming more masculine, and in certain ways they seem to have fun partially taking over man's domain? It's obvious they're getting a charge out of being in the "man's world," and not because a true appreciation of fine firearms.
2. Most new female shooters are being mostly motivated by fear and NOT a love of guns or shooting. When fear is the key motivator, I'm always concerned about how committed or SAFE that person really is.
3. As in the rest of the marketplace, companies are not JUST beginning to market to women, they are allowing women to change the marketplace, which rarely results in prices going down.
When I speak to women about guns, one of the first things out of their mouths after I've just given them a good basic rundown of the SIMPLE rules of gun safety, and allowed them to handle one of my guns is they say "yea, I need to go sign up for a training class." This drive to take a "class" makes the instructors wealthy and probably explains why women love the controlled environment of school/colleges and why they are getting most of the college degrees now (by far).
The good side to all of this is that government fears women not us anymore. If women own guns, it will be much harder for them to be banned. Women will fight nowadays but we're mostly too scared to. Sad.
Did you catch the fact that two of the women profiled were wives of government employees. It makes me wonder if they believe in the 2nd amendment or if they just love it that their husband is one of the "super" classes of citizen which enjoys more rights than the "little people."
