Texas, baby!
If anyone is interested; I was super tempted on one of them!

custom built rifle , made by a rifle maker called STAR; 26 inch thick contour bbl,
highly blued and polished, all other metal, case hardened/colored.
Rolling block receiver, super stout. Caliber? how about a 219 Zipper!!!! awesome.
$700. bucks , used, so you can talk them down.
next to it, a Savage, old school 340, mag fed in 222, 380 bucks, that's right,
only 380, and used so you can proly talk them down on that one, too.
very nice wood as well.
I can't remember, I was so geeked out on seeing these; but they might have
both also had scopes mounted on the allready , as well!!!!

Lastly , a remmy 550- with excellent wood, and custom curved back buttstock plate, in brass; shoots short, long, and long rifle semi auto.
Price? Try 150. bucks!!!!! I had to fight my hand and wallet on that one.
Also used, so bargain away!!!

Are you talking about these guns??

Also, HGCA gun show weekend after this one. There will be plenty of good stuff there.

not sure if that was the exact savage; it seemed ot have darker wood, and I thought it had a scope on it. Otherwise, that is the model.
and the one above it, that is deff it!!! really an awesome rifle to hold in your hands, very heavy and stout.
Since both are used rifles, like I said, you can bargain with them.
You are right, usually collector's is well overpriced, to pay for that massive staff or personel they have. but either of these would be superfine to have...
Plus that remmy for 150 is totally stealing, especially if you can knock of 20 bucks more... they probably paid 100 for it, max.

rangerruck, those were the only two that matched your description on their site. Too bad I could not find the other gun, probably not worth the effort for them to post that one.

I really like Collectors. You can find just about anything you are looking for.

Last week took the SO in there to let her look at M1 carbines. She liked the feel, look, size, etc. but not the price. Also she is now aware that none of the originals look real new, and that is how old warriors are supposed to look. Good news is she will be happy with her Christmas present from the CMP this year, LOL.

We were able to also look at a number of carry pistols for her, then order one from a dealer out of Shotgun news for a retail price of about $300 cheaper, and a final cost savings of about $255 ($30 shipping+ $15 FFL).

While I have bought a number of guns from them, I find them best for a try it on type of thing.

If they ever get more competitive on their prices, they will get a lot more of my business.

Hopefully someday...........................

I know what you mean, usually I just go in the used rifle racks, or used 22 racks, and see if anything really grabs me...

and for 22 pistols, it is double tough to beat their selection of old High Standards, and old Colt
Woodsmans...

I like that rolling block, it needs a traditional externally adjusted scope though. Modern scopes don't look right on vintage rifles.
