Just so you know, I also posted this over on RFC, so if you want one of these,
better hurry!
So I went to look at that 541... I am no expert, but is perfect too strong a word?
How about minty or completely awesome? This is a used rifle, so I am sure you can get the price down, but it is better than the pics. I don't think it has a box with it, but I would say someone bought this rifle, and it is unfired. The bolt has no marks at all, inside the receiver is faint bolt markings from sliding. metal outside has a high gloss to it, all screws are untouched, nothing ever mounted.
Wood is perfect. muzzle has no patterning on it at all. bore is mirror polished, with not a trace of powder. If there is such a thing as a perfect, unboxed, used rifle, this is it. By the way, when were these made? It had a big 72 stamped on the left side of the bbl, and the dude behind the counter thought this may be a date stamp, but he could not remember if they letter coded or date coded.
Either way, the rifle looks bran new...
Also just so you know, they have a bran new hammerli 22 semi auto, very hefty and big built, with firefly sights, and a 17 round tube, for sale, for 170 bucks.
Also one other thing; was at the Woodlands today as well. If you ever wanted a Marlin mod 80 dl, ALL PAWN, on the feeder road, has a nice one, drilled and tapped, with a period correct side mount on it, plus a cheapy 3/4 inch scope. Nice wood correct dovetail blank in the rear, pre 53' model. ARE YOU READY???
80 bucks on the price tag; that means you can proly get it for cash for 60 to 70.
If I did not allready have an 81, this would be in my bag right now.
By the way, I'm gonna post this over on the marlin thread, and open line, so as many dudes as possible see it.
better hurry!
